The Experience

Your session is designed to feel relaxed, unhurried and genuinely enjoyable. From your first message to the moment you open your gallery, everything is thoughtfully guided — so you can simply be present with your family.

  1. Getting in Touch

Once you enquire, I’ll send over availability and a short questionnaire to get to know your family — your dynamic, your preferences and anything helpful for me to understand (including neurodivergent needs or sensitivities).

We will choose a location, time of day and general feel for the sort of session you desire

2. Preparing for Your Session

I’ll offer guidance on what to wear and how to approach the session. Nothing overly styled (unless your teen is all about the outfits)— just suggestions that photograph beautifully and feel like you.

No pressure. No rigid posing.

3. The Session Itself

Sessions are playful and flexible. I gently guide when needed, but mostly I create space for connection.

Children can move. Laugh. Wander.

Parents can relax.

There is no expectation for perfection — only real moments.

4.After Your Session

Within 3 weeks, you’ll receive a beautifully curated online gallery.

From there, you can:

• Download your included images

• Select favourites (if applicable)

• Order prints if you wish

5. The Result

What you’ll have are images that feel honest and warm — not forced or overly posed. Photographs that capture this fleeting chapter exactly as it is.

 A Few Helpful Details

Family and Seniour Sessions often come with questions - here are a few of the ones I am most frequently asked

Family

  • I don’t cancel for grey skies or a little drizzle — some of the most beautiful, atmospheric images are created in soft, overcast light. Wellies and umbrellas can add such charm.

If the forecast is heavy rain or genuinely unsafe conditions, we’ll reschedule at no extra cost. Your session should feel relaxed, not rushed.

  • Golden hour — that soft, glowing light before sunset — is always beautiful.

However, the very best time is the time that works for your family. Nap schedules, little legs, energy levels — they matter more than chasing perfect light. I’ll guide you towards what will feel calm and natural.

  • Absolutely. I’m a parent of a neurodivergent child myself, and I deeply understand that every child is wonderfully different.

My sessions are gentle, flexible and pressure-free. There is no expectation for children to “perform” — only space for connection and comfort.

  • Choose clothing that feels natural and comfortable. Neutral and earthy tones photograph beautifully and it’s best to avoid large logos or very bold patterns or clashing patterns.

Once you’re booked, I’m always happy to help with outfit guidance so everything feels cohesive without being over-styled.

  • Your full gallery will be ready within three weeks of your session. I don’t offer sneak peeks for family sessions — instead, I carefully curate and edit your gallery as a complete story so you can experience it all at once.

  • A signed agreement and booking fee secure your session in my diary. Once that’s in place, we’ll begin planning something beautiful together.

Seniors

  • If the forecast is heavy rain or genuinely disruptive weather, we’ll reschedule at no extra cost. Soft cloud or light grey skies and even drizzle can actually create beautiful, flattering portraits — so we don’t panic over a little overcast weather.

  • Golden hour gives a gorgeous, cinematic glow, but we’ll choose a time that works best for you and your schedule. The aim is relaxed, confident portraits — not rushing for light.

  • Wear something that feels like you. This could be casual, dressed up, layered, or even a couple of outfit changes. Confidence and comfort always photograph best — and I’m happy to help you plan your looks beforehand.

  • Yes — bringing a friend can help you feel more relaxed and natural. I’m also happy to capture a few photos of you together. For anyone under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must be present for the session.

  • That’s completely normal. I gently guide you throughout the session so nothing feels stiff or forced. Most people arrive feeling unsure and leave surprised at how natural it felt and always delighted at how much fun they have had

  • Yes — I love choosing locations that reflect your personality. That might be the streets of London, a quiet countryside field, a favourite town, or somewhere that feels like “your” place. We’ll plan it together so the setting feels personal and meaningful.
